The ribosome is a highly complex molecular machine, a central regulatory hub in the cell and a major antibiotic target. Recent years have seen our structural and functional understanding of ribosome action blossom, revealing new and unexpected mechanisms of translation regulation in unprecedented detail.
The Ribosome meeting is held every three years and brings together researchers working on all aspects of the ribosome, from its structure and function to its role in disease and its use as a drug target. The goal of the meeting is to inform participants of the state of the art in the field of protein synthesis and translation regulation.
As such, the Ribosome meeting provides an excellent opportunity for students, young and established researchers from academia and industry to meet, share new ideas, initiate new collaborations, and discuss future directions in this active area of the life sciences.
The 2022 edition of the Ribosome meeting will be held in person at the Palais de la Bourse, at the heart of the beautiful French city of Bordeaux, providing ample opportunities for sightseeing and dining.
COVID-RELATED MEASURES
The number of COVID-19 cases in France has been rising over the past two weeks and the risk of contamination is still high. As a result, we will be implementing the following safety measures for all in-person participants:
- Although it is no longer a legal requirement, wearing FFP2, KN95 or surgical masks indoors has proven to be an effective means of pandemic containment over the past two years, so we require participants to wear masks indoors at all times to protect themselves and others, unless presenting or asking questions.
- Maintaining reasonable social distance during the conference. The auditorium has 2 times the seating capacity.
